With 30 years of dance experience my specialty lies within street dance styles and choreography. Styles include Hip Hop, Commercial Jazz, Breaking, Popping, Locking, Krump & House Dance. All enhanced by my background in Contemporary, Classical Ballet, Jazz, Tap & Musical Theatre.
I began dancing at age 3, studying Jazz, Contemporary/Modern dance & Ballet for 15 years, then I was introduced to street dance, I began learning hip hop/video choreography from Michael and Janet Jackson videos, Madonna, and then started following and learning from Hip Hop/R&B artists such as Usher, TLC and any video that had dancing in it. I was drawn to street from USA in 2005 and was at the forefront of pushing these 2 styles into 'scenes' in Australia. Teaching many workshops in Sydney and Interstate to create awareness and generate interest in the genres. I now specialise in different styles of hip hop, house and Bboying/breaking, and am currently re-visiting my jazz/contemporary/ballet roots. I teach Hip Hop & House at Dancekool.

Philosophy in Dance
When you get older and leave your studio, company, or the institution you are dancing at, know how to dance for yourself, its one thing to do choreography all day, and perform someone else's work, but at the end of the day if you can't freestyle and dance for yourself and for the love of dance, if you don't have a voice in dance or need a choreographer or teacher to tell you what to do, then you cant really call yourself a dancer. Take all the fantastic tools they have given you and give back to dance, say something with it, and be able to dance for the rest of your life.
What do you want your students to get out of your class?
My classes are challenging, I challenge you to step up and try harder, and achieve something you didn't think you could do. Many students who have trained under me for the last 10 years are still dancing and or teaching, they have the tools necessary to take their dancing to higher levels than they ever thought they would. I turn ordinary people into passionate and inspiring dancers and dance sharers (teachers). But we have a good old time in class too!!
