Stacy Peke – our funky and favorite New Zealander – is back at Dancekool with a new class!! Exclusively she will now choregraph some hot ‘Urban Hip Hop’ routines.

Stacy has performed many times at Dancekool’s events with her famous Sydney crew ‘Deja’.

Stacy has many years of experience in dance as she has been studying at the Excel Performing Arts School in NZ. She has toured New Zealand and finally came to Sydney in 2004 with her singing and dance group ‘Jireh’.

Since then she has kept traveling to the US to learn and develop new dance skills. Stacy has notably performed with Vincent Harder and Random from X-Factor, Erana Leaf, Paulini from Australian Idol and Barry Southgate. She has danced at many corporate events and club functions including Mocha, Hunter and R&B superclubs.

Rory has been dancing for 10 years, developing his training in Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop and Ballet.

As well as being an amazing dancer, Rory has got incredible acrobat’s skills:

- Dancer/ Acrobat in ‘A Midsummer Nights Dream’ - Baz Lurhmans
- Dancer in “Choreographers Ball” Tour to Hollywood L.A. with Choreographer Jessie “T” Taylor
- Dancer in Graeme Murphys “Aida” with Opera Australia
- Acrobat work with Opera Australia, performing in, “Caverlleria Rusticana and Pagliacci”.

Rory has been learned  dance Jazz and Hip Hop in schools such as the prestigious Sydney Dance Company and the Australian Dance Enterprises.

Dancekool is really excited to welcome this new instructor!! So come and try his Jazz/ Hip Hop class this Saturday at 4.30pm at Dancekool studio!!!

Josie will be teaching a new Girls’ Hip Hop class at Dancekool due to a high demand!! Every Tuesday 6.30pm-7.30pm.

This class is opened to all levels, just come along if you want to learn Josie’s sexy style ~

For the 1st week (13th of July), she will be teaching first part of  her student showcase for Hyped Up! vol.3 with the routine “Go Girl”. So if you are thinking about joining the showcase come and try the routine.

Sarah has been dancing for 12 years, developing her training in Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop and Ballet. Her passion for dance began with an interest in Hip Hop and Jazz when she was 13 years old. As a member of the dance team for three years in high school, she became captain of the team in 2003. At Jakarta International School, she received an ‘Award in Dance’ in 2002 and a ‘Most Valuable Dancer’ award in 2003.

Her dance training was primarily at Jakarta International School, Lasalle College of the Arts Singapore, and Sydney Dance Company. In 2006 Sarah completed a Diploma in Dance in Singapore, where the focus was mainly on Contemporary and Ballet. She completed a ballet course in the Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing in 2005. The variety in techniques brought about Sarah’s versatile dancing style.

She has performed in Singapore at Zouk Nightclub, Chingay Parade, and Indonesian Art Festival. In Sydney she has performed with Soulxpress at Space Nightclub and The Burbs Festival.

Sarah has taught at Jakarta International School, Singapore International School of Jakarta, National Institute of Youth Performing Arts Australia, and Soulxpress at Sydney University.

Leo has been dancing for more than 8 years.
He’s been taught by NAMA (R.I.P) (Gorilla Crew Korea) and Brian Green (NYC) and has been inspired by many crews such as Dance fusion, Electric Boogaloos, Moptop Crew etc.

About Karen:

Karen is a true passionate dancer that believes in “dancing from the heart and soul”. Her love for hip hop dance began seven years ago, taking classes from her now dance crew member Masaki, together with Akio, the trio formed “triple rebels” in 2007 and have performed in club events throughout Sydney.

Her love for hip hop grew even stronger when she lived in Japan in 2004, where she trained in the dance form as well as researched and interviewed about the Japanese hip hop culture and history. Whilst in Japan, she also developed a passion for dancehall and when she returned to Sydney in 2005, she formed a female dance crew, “sakura”, where they performed hip hop and dancehall in clubs and festivals across Sydney, Japan and Korea.

Over the past 2 years, her devotion for dance led her to Broadway Dance Center in NYC where she was able to study all styles of street dance including hip hop, poppin, lockin, breaking, house, wackkin, vogue and street jazz with some of the pioneers of these styles such as Brian Green, Bam Bam, Ejoe Wilson, Jazzy J, Archie Burnette, Shabba-doo and Tyrone. She was also trained in jazz and ballet and discovered a new passion for tap dancing as well as West African dance.

Karen believes that one can never stop learning. She would like to share her international dance knowledge and experiences as a dancer and a student to further develop herself. She feels that “everyone can dance, I will bring out the dancer in you!”
